The day
Jess and James’s winter wedding was Melbourne personified; the forecast had predicted a freezing dark day, but typical Melbourne brought out the sun at just the right times.
Jess was stunning in her off-the-shoulder gown from One Day Bridal, with dramatic billowing sleeves that played magically in the windy afternoon. Her relaxed hairstyle was created by Hair by Rachel Louise and make-up was applied by Studio 2. She and her bridal party carried simple and elegant blooms from Pomp and Splendour.
James (who Jess described as an ‘aesthetically pleasing Adonis’) didn’t scrub up too badly either in a suit from Oscar Hunt.
Following the ceremony, we headed to the Carlton Wine bar for candid photos, cool cocktails and some of the city’s best laneway shots. We were lucky enough to work alongside Melbourne’s best, the incredible Erin & Tara on photography.
Their reception was something to behold, held at Luminare, which is one of Melbourne’s best blank slate wedding reception venues. A gorgeous open space, it is perfect for individual styling and each couple can put their own personal spin on their day. With styling by Fox & Mae, Sketch & Etch, Lauren Skorsis, and Sweet Bakes, Jess and James did exactly that.
