The day
We first met the couple at Georgie’s sister’s wedding 12 months earlier, so we knew this would be a spectacular day. Georgie and Matt are high school sweethearts, their relationship taking them on adventures around Australia, and all around the world. Prior to their wedding day, the couple were living in London and making the most of the European summers.
Georgie and Matt were married in the picturesque courtyard of Butler Lane, with a stunning hedge backdrop and florals by Started with Scarlett. Their close friend Lewis was the celebrant, and with Matt being a former AFL footballer, there were an abundance of footballs puns dropped throughout the ceremony,
While guests enjoyed drinks and canapés, we snuck away with the brilliant Ali Bailey for some photos in the industrial side-streets of Richmond, and then to Studley Park. Georgie and Matt have such beautiful infectious personalities, and they really bring out the best in each other.
Later the guests dined in Butler Lane’s modern warehouse space, catered by the gourmet Peter Rowland. The couple performed their bridal waltz under the stars, and then the dance floor really kicked off with a flashmob from the girls. It was a perfect Melbourne summer night, and we’re so thrilled we were part of it.
A special mention to the crew from Nowadays, for their seamless planning and exquisite styling. We love working with Hannah, she’s definitely the best in the business.
